This month’s Bowie updates:
- She loves the sounds of languages that aren’t English. Talking or singing to her in Tagalog, Spanish, or French (no matter how rudimentary your knowledge or how poor your pronunciation or grammar) basically guarantees a big smile with a 50% chance of giggles.
- She’s become a very skilled grabber. She especially likes to reach up for parts of our faces, and if you want to see her really joyful, all you have to do is tell her what she’s got (“That’s mama’s chin! You’re holding mama’s chin!”).
- Bowie can roll over completely now! She flipped from her back to belly, seemed startled by the fact that it actually happened, immediately pushed herself back over and has not attempted it since then… but it happened!
- Her first Christmas and New Year! Both seem like FOREVER ago now, but rest assured both were the snuggliest holidays to date. Thank you again to the family and friends who helped make our baby’s first Christmas extra special!
- Even with her new awesome toys, the piano remains one of Bowie’s favorites. I think maybe her developing motor skills help keep it new and exciting as multi-key mashing is slowly morphing into to actual melodic fragments. Yesterday, she (presumably unwittingly, but hey, who knows for sure?) played the opening notes of David Bowie’s “Rebel Rebel” and seemed genuinely psyched about it.
On with this month’s photos!
