Bowie is four months old today! Some milestones and highlights:
- Bowie’s first Thanksgiving(s)! She got to smell delicious new smells and hang out with friends and family. (She also got to listen to mom and dad tell her at least a thousand times how thankful we are for her.)
- We reunited with Penny Simkin and our birthing class cohorts along with their little ones. Bowie seemed to really enjoy seeing so many other babies, so we’re looking forward to starting PEPS next month.
- She said “mama” at least three times!!! (Most likely just accidents of learning to vocalize, but still!)
- Bowie is in the final stages of her first cold. All three of us caught the same bug at the same time, and while we feel completely horrible for letting our babe get sick so early in life, she just kept on smiling! For the most part, the Nosefrida is hilarious to her.
- Some of her current likes: snuggling, nose-nuzzles, bouncing and having tummy rocking time on our exercise ball, playing piano, grabbing and chewing on small stuffed animals, reading Shel Silverstein before bed, when we make the Jaws approaching “dun dun” sounds while moving forward to kiss her, when I try to talk like Christian Bale’s Batman, and when dad piggy snorts into her neck. We’re also pleased to report that her musical tastes are pretty widely varied and include “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands,” “The Wheels on the Bus,” “Sampung Mga Daliri” (a Tagalog children’s song about parts of the body), and “Waiting Room” by Fugazi.
